QUIS LEGET HAEC

Monday

One of the friends from UofH ROTC came by the library. It seems that he'll be recieving his commission in about 5 weeks. Can you imagine that! I'm so proud. I'm worried though. We didn't imply that we knew where he was going. We just knew. Didn't say a word. Anyway, he has a baby boy. He seems proud and tired. Can you beat that? No, I guess not. I miss them. More so because I see that they are moving on to do bigger and better things. I really do miss it.

On a crappier note, Doc. told me I was stupid and couldn't tell a chronolgy from an outlet in the wall. Actually, that''s not what was said but that's what I gathered. It seems that my capstone is completely out of sequence. TO make matters worse, I was revising in the computer lab and the computer f*cked up! I was half way through. All I would have had to do was go back and made sure that the thing "flowed". Instead, most of my insightful notes got flushed down the computer toilet.

Mary and Candelario went to a fencing tournament. I think they had fun even though they feel they didn't do well. We nagged her on Friday, I think, that fencing isn't really a sport but that's a lie. I've seen what they do and it gets me tired just by watching.

I ordered my invitations for graduation but after what I wrote above, I really don't think I'm graduating. I won't be surprised if the Doc. told me just to drop out because I'm too stupid. My words, not theirs.

Nothing new as you can tell. Just a whole lot of nagging and stuff. Hope I didn't depress you anymore than you already were.

Saturday

I was having a discussion with someone earlier this week about politics and world wars and it got me thinking. American democracy is on the way out. Sounds bad? I guess it does. Anyway, that's not the point. The question is, what's going to take its place?

If you look at history, militarily wise, we can see an evolution taking place from the beginning of time. Take William the Conqueror. His army in 1066 numbered, what, in the 40,000's or maybe not even that much. Anyway, the point is this: American Civil War, hundreds of thousands in Army size; World War one, same size in Company size; World War two, more so in Company size; and so on. Anyway, in Vietnam we had platoon size formations going into the jungles to fight. With the progression of time technology has forced military tactics to evolve to the point that now we have squad size infultration units involved in surgical strikes.

The Army's in use have become smaller. That's the reason why morale is faultering. We don't know how to fight World War III. What we have missed is the evolution. People have been wondering about World War III. My theory is is that we are already fighting it. The difference is is that warfare has changed so much that we can't recognize it. In 2001 the US was hit. A year later, I think, Italy was hit. Just this passed week, Spain was hit. Even Bush mentioned a "Global War".

The US is at the center of the whole ordeal. That's the reason American Democracy is faultering. But that's not the concern we should have. We should worry about what comes next. Warfare is always changing. That we can deal with. Voters have been on the decline for the passed couple of years. Some of us don't care about politics anymore. That's the fear. That's the problem. When the time comes, we won't be able to keep tyranny from the Presidency. It may not be that visible because history has been a major view for all people. World War Two can be considered recent history. Too many people remember living through the effects. It may not be a dictatorial style of government, but it may be an office ditatorship with backings from corporations. I was wrong when I told that person I was having a discussion with that World War Three was not going to happen for a couple more years (My theory). I should have realized that in its evolved state, we are there already.

I was expecting a larger turn out for the Garage Party last night, but I was sadly mistaken. There wasn't any more than about thirty people there. That's counting the band and the security detail that was present. Anyway, I had half a beer. Wasn't up for it. Em-J showed up. Aside from the familiar faces I knew, I think Alex, Derek and Em-J were the only people I knew there.

DAWN OF THE DEAD
Grooos'em movie. Great gags and awesome special affects. It actually looked real to me. Thank "Higher Essence" it isn't. (Higher Essence = God, for the philosophically inclined). Anyway, no details because it will ruin it but if you were expecting an 80's version that's obviously B rated, you will be sadly mistaken. Now, be warned! Too grooos'em for children like the 80's movies used to be for. We had to drag Em-J along because she kept saying she had to do homework. It was funny watching Em-J scutch down her seat when it was getting too scary. I actually think I saw her on the floor at some point. It was semi-packed and so we sat about two rows from the front of the screen so the entire time, we were looking up. It made the movie all that more scary. Talk about front seats to a massacre.

Thursday

Guess what I did today? I applied for a job here on campus. Not just a job but one of those REAL "grown-ups" jobs. I know I won't get it. Actually, I made a resume and cover letter in about an hour. So, that should tell you how much effort I put in the whole deal. I didn't do it to get the job but to say that I could do it if I wanted to. Stupid, huh? Anyway, I'm at the end of my rope.
Sorry!!!
Happy thoughts, Happy thoughts, Happy thoughts!!!!!!!

Just here at work doing absolutely nothing, as ussual. Everyone else is out and about and I'd rather stay in Houston this weekend, but I made other plans. Why Mexico, couldn't she baptize in Houston? That's what I'm asking myself. Anyway, I have a long drive this Saturday and I actually don't know what a "Godfathers" job is. I'll have to watch "The Godfather" and find out. You see, I do research my roles in life(HAHAHA). Don't worry, I may act stupid but I'm really not acting. It's not the role but the drive that I really don't feel like making. Fun will be had. Tired I will be.

Have a happy Spring Break everybody. Drink a large one for me.
King size, even.

Tuesday

I'm halfway through my second day of fasting. I'm not hungary right now, but I'm pretty sure I will be by the end of the 7 days. No particular reason for it, just felt like doing it for 7 days. Spring Break is upon us and I have no plans to do anything important or fun. Work and work. That's about all. I walked to St. Thomas yesterday and walked back. 13 miles total, approximately. I thought it was 16 miles before but I mapped it out on Yahoo and found that it wasn't . it's 12.4 miles. But the reason for 13 miles is the few hundred meters left to the Apartments. It was fun but my right calf hurts and my thighs hurt. I used mole skin but it only worked on one foot. I got a blister on my left foot. Atleast it wasn't as bad as last time. I didn't even make it home without getting a cab. I learn a couple more lessons this time around. Better luck next time. Got to get back to my school work. I have a couple of midterms straight out of Spring Break.

Thursday

If you would take two of me and one of he, would that make an apple tree?
If you would cry and I would lie, would that make an apple pie?

If you would say and I would stay, would that make a milky way?
If you would dance and I would prance, would that make a chance parle?

The Sun's in the meadow, shining bright.
It centers and shines rays of delight.
What a fright!!

Green rabbits joyfully in the trees and yellow penguins sleeping on the sand.
Orange zebras with purple stripes dance from hiltop to valley.
Pink butterflies, two by two, fly from hither to thither.
What, mon pettite amee?
Fly...fly....fly!
