Fifteen days and counting
Gun range was fun. Thought I broke my 1860 colt revolver but in fact, I didn't. Just a few screws loose. Ironic because I have a couple of them missing. Maybe we are interchangable. Have to look at the manual for that. Anyway, it was fun and exciting and I also found out that I'm actually a bad shot. If you ever want to be shot at but survive, talk to me. You'll have a 90 percent chance of survival if I'm the one doing the shooting.

What can I say. I think I'm applying to other universities also, instead of just applying here at UST. Masters in History sounds nice. I don't know, though. I still don't know what I want to be when I grow up. I always thought about being a fire truck, but people say that will never happen. Something about me not being smart enough. I like RED.

I'm on strike: NO WORK, NO WORK, NO WORK!
I actually think that Lisa and Rachel are finally tired of me. Last night I was working with Tyler. You don't need two people at reference. Everyone knows you don't need two people at reference. Sh*t happens...

Sunday

It's been a while since I had enough time to write in this thing. Nothing important happened except that I bought an 1860 colt revolver (replica). It shoots, too. I have the black powder, caps and balls for smokey explosive fun. All I need to do is find a gun range where I can fire off a couple of shots. I spent a lot of money, money that could have gone for my trip, but things came up and I had to use the money for bills and other things. So, I said f*ck it and bought it. It's not like I'm going anywhere any time soon. I'll enjoy releasing my fustratiions on cans and bottles.

Exactly 20 days for graduation. I still can't beleive it! Well actually, 20 days is a long time. Remember, I'm taking one of "HIS" classes. He's a mean son of____, Historiography teacher. I have so little to do, with too much time...Wait....strike that and reverse it. People keep asking me what I;m going to do after graduation. Well, I HAVE ABSOLUTELY NO IDEA!!!

Philosophy of the Matrix trilogy

Good title for this post. Anyway, some of us have been discussing the Matrix but nobody seems to prescribe to what I interpret out of the three movies. Give your input.

Matrix (Ancient Philosophy)
I say ancient philosophy because Neo is searching for some truth. This truth being that his world is not the real world. Plato comes up with "material" and "immaterial". There's matter and something inside matter. Forms and Matter. Sounds familiar? A real world and an invisible world. Where was Neo when he was in the Matrix? In the immaterial world made up by energy and made by machines. BUT which is the real world? The question is there. That's when w find out that he is supposed to be the "Savior".
On to the next one.

Matrix Reloaded (Medieval Philosophy)
I say medieval philosophy because of the last sentence above. We know that Medeival philosophy dealt with god and he being the ultimate end. We find in Augustine that God is the guiding light and that we have no knoweldge unless he gives it to us. There is a good and there is a God who sent his son down to "save" us. This person made miracles happen and "brought people back from the dead". Hello, Trinity died and he pumps her heart. (I hope I'm not confusing it with "Revolutions"). Anyway, by this time in philosophical thought the theories have gone from what is the world to who created the world. Neo is searching for the "architect". Anyway, that's my interpretation.

Matrix Revolutions (Modern Philosophy)
I say modern philosophy because it's a Humanistic plot. The movie deals more with the people and Neo. Not just Neo as savior. What happens in modern philosophy is the shift from God to man. Ergo, humanist. Man in control of their own destiny. There's even some Spinoza, Locke and Hobbes in this movie. There's the political side where a military commander thinks he's right under extreme conditions and that there's a revolution going on, one that has beleivers against non-beleivers. Hello, Revolution is the title of this movie! Machine against Man is a war, so why revolution. Locke, anyone? There's also a harmony that is supposed to be met to live in peace. That's why Neo goes above ground: the harmony.

Anyway, those are my theories.

Sunday

two weeks and counting till the symposium. i really don't want to do it. i've researched till my ass fell off. anyway, i guess i'm more prepared than i was about three weeks ago.

historiography is messing with my patience. too many giggly-wiggly presentations to do and not enough time to f*cking research for them and still keep up with my other classes. all normal professors have already given their midterms. in historiography, our midterm is next week, and we still have to prepare for presentations. what's up with that.

BETTER NOTE: friday night, just before i fell asleep, i get a phone call from a girl. imagine that! i, get a call, from a girl. NAW!!! unnatural as it sounds, i really did. we met up at brasils and had a beer and talked. time flies when you are too involved with conversation. i actually didn't know that it was 1:10am. she's a good girl; she had to make it home before curfew. BEFORE, being the operative word. anyway, i think i babelled too much. if there was an interest there, it fell away once i opened my mouth. still, it felt good to go out unchaperoned. (that's probably a misspelling but i don't care!)

did i mention that there is two weeks before that damn symposium?
