Smoking

V poses a good question. Why do I smoke? Is it an addiction? I can stop. Quite honestly, I've done it before.  If you can go 8 hours without a cigarette, you can go 24 hours without a cigarette.  If you can go 24 hours without a cigarette, you can go 7 days without a cigarette. If you can go 7 days, you can go a month.  If you can go a month, you can go a year.

I guess that's an interesting way to look at it.  So, why can't I stop?  Can I stop?  I guess I'll just have to try again.

DLC Unite!

Well.  Had an awesome night last night.  DLC was together again after soo many years.  We strolled through our old stomping grounds and reminisced.  There was even a handstand attempt, or two.  It was an awesome gathering.

I can't believe that I'm amazed!

Interesting that I was born at a moment in time that saw growth and prosperity, but death and destruction still prevailed.  Technology was slowly inching its way out into the Sun while old traditions were being questioned.  It has been a wondrous time to be alive.  Thirteen days to New Years and I can't seem to be able to think of anything other than what the future holds for mankind.  I assume the worst, while hoping for the best.  Merry Christmas, everybody!

Dumbass Supervisor!

So, sad to say, or quite honestly, I'm tired of working at my present place of employment.  The work is easy to do, although heavy, but the freaking Supervisors are worthless.  I was in the process of completing a task when one of those idiots decides he wants to talk to a couple of women.  He sees me and decidez to pawn off his work on me just because he could.  And when I show hesitation, he says, "Your not doing anything and you want me to take this to the machine?!"

For those of you out there that are going to be in positions of leadership, ask your employees what they are up to before assuming they are not doing anything.  Understand that everyone around you may be in the middle of his own work before pawning off your work on them just so you can talk to people.  And then, don't smirk at the person after making a snide remark.

Also, we didn't get Thanksgiving off, but we were told we would get Christmas off because of it.  Turns out, we don't get Christmas off AND we get to work 10 to 12 hour tours.  For the past three weeks, we've worked without a day off, but because the Union is in bed with management and only care about the regulars, the regulars get the "required" days off and we have to make up  the difference.  Lucky us.  And we are continously berated for inquiring about days off.

I'm tired emotionally and physically.

Nelson Mandela

Where was I when Nelson Mandela died?I was at work.  Not that I have to remember, but that I have to remember that the last of the individuals of reason and faith are dieing.  I hope that what men and women like him have plnted seeds with deep and strong roots.  I hope that what they sacrificed was not in vain and that their students continue in the face of adversity.  We should never allow Reason to end.
