QUIS LEGET HAEC

Sunday

Edge of Tomorrow

So.  Did anyone have a feeling that the new Tom Cruise, Emily Blunt movie was an homage to 1944, June 5th, and the 101st Airborne Division?

I guess it was just me.

There was a line in the movie, and I'm parapbrasing, Your mind couldn't contemplate what I'm talking about.  To get juiced up by a temporal anomaly doesn't quite require a brain, Tommy, my boy.  Oh yeah.  Mr. Cruise said that line to a general.

Anyway.  The concept was good. A third 80s movie montage with training sequences without Eye of the Tiger, a third 40s military tactics and strategy without Churchill nor MacArthur and a third 90s love story without a happy ending but a possible new beginning.  It's almost like 50 First Dates meets Saving Private Ryan meets Alien.

I hate borders!

So the Post Office finally allowed me a Satutday day-off.  I decided thar after work (Friday night) I'd drive down to see V in 2nd H-town.  We watched Melifacent early Saturday afternoon, bought a grill and after assembling it, haf a late barbeque.

Unforntunately, working for the Post Office sucks ass!  I had to come in to work Sunday.  So, I started my "commute" back to H-town around 10:45am or so.  Sleepy and tired as hell!

Anyway.  I arrived at the Border Patrol checkpoint around an hour or so after leaving 2nd H-town, and as saw a border patrol leading a man by the arm from a bus to the building.  Well, the man was also holding a toddlers hand in his other hand and at the speed that the border patrol was racing the man towards the building, the little boy and his bear were having a hard time keeping up.  I'm not sure if it was a bear.  Could have been a blankie, but needless to say, thean was being pulled, the toddler couldn't get his feet umder him.

I didn't see if the made it into the building without the boy falling.  But I've been driving for five hours to get to this fuckimg job, and along the way I see somethimg that forces me to rethink the concepts that this country was formed for.  All I can see is a little boy being pulled around like a package that no one wants.
