Good credit gets you nothing!
So I got the market value of the house and it was a substantial amount. Far more than what I still owe. So, technically, I'm what they call "Not under water". I guess I really didn't need the quotes because I'm also quite literally not under water. After all the storms that hit South T-State.
Anyway. I stray.
So, I decided to phone my bank and asked for a Home Equity Line of Credit. I figured I have a good job, a house that's worth a chunk of change and a desire to travel. A Line of Credit would be awesome! I thought, "It'll be a cinch"!
Called my bank, started the application, filled out here, signed there and sent this and that in. Waited for the call that would finally tell me that purchasing my home during the financial downfall and then lossing my job three months later was worth the wait.
The call came: Declined!
What!? WTF!?
Turns out that I make less than what I told them. I really don't. The PO has seasons. There are highs and lows in the PO. Because I am in a low season at the PO, the stubs I sent them did not match last years W2.
I've paid my bills. Even during my employment subatical, I made sure to keep my bills in order. For the last eight years, I have maintained a good credit report. And all that shine meant nothing to the underwriter.
Fudge'm!
Anyway.
Banks suck! LOL
