QUIS LEGET HAEC

Thursday

"CEASAR! WE WHO ARE ABOUT TO DO, SALUTE YOU!!"

We are about 36 hours from landfall. Ike seems to be on a relatively direct line for Houston. We probably won't leave Houston at all, but we may leave the apartment and stay with "V". She might be alone at home. I guess that's what my decision depends on; if she'll be alone at home, we'll head to her home and stay with her. If her family remains behind, we'll stay here. There had been several observations regarding Hurricane Ike. The first was that the pressure within the hurricane were lower than usual. The storm SHOULD have been stronger, earlier, but it didn't change intensity. Then today, the pressure within the storm came up and should have weakened the storm, but the storm kept trucking. I'm actually worried about this storm. It's more of a Finger of God, than anything else. It seems that this storm has something to prove. At this point in time, the hurricane is a Cat 2. They were expecting a Cat 4 by landfall. Now, they are anticipating a Cat 3 by landfall.

Already, Galveston is experiencing a rise in water. People are remaining Galveston. That's what I can't believe. I wish I could get a couple of pics of Galveston before the storm. That would have been cool. Instead, I'll worry about my ass and keep it down.

If it hits Houston, it'll be devistating. If Houston is on the Dirty Side of the storm, it'll probably be worse than Tropical Storm Allison. In either case, I bet I can read your mind: "Good thing I'm not there".
