QUIS LEGET HAEC

Friday

I have a request. Never had a request made before. Kind of makes me feel needed. Anyway...

In the course of a life, a person must make a stand. Be it for an ideology, a theory or a design of some sort. It seldom matters that the stand was made, and by whom it was made. Ultimately, the names and images are lost to oblivion. What matters is the cause; the becaon of light that led individuals to amass at some point in time. It matters that these individuals converged on a hilltop and drew the line (the line that must be drawn), and cried out in a single voice, "No further"!

Velia and two of her co-workers, Charlies and Mac, have made a stand...or should I say, have decided to take a ride for their cause. These three intrepid voyagers shall begin their ride from our little city of Houston and will follow a trecherous path to Austin, Texas. Believe you me, I've seen this beautiful landscape we call Texas and the journey is not for the faint of heart. Its lush scenery, it's beautiful landscape best caught by the eye of an artist or the imagination of a young person ready to make their mark on the world, is not to be taken lightly.

These three individuals have not taken their voyage lightly. They have searched their souls and consulted their consience and have decided that their cause is a good cause and that any pains is worth their best effort.

Their cause is a great cause. Multiple Sclerosis is an autoimmune disease that affects the brain and spinal cord better known as the Central Nervous System. As we well know, the Central Nervous System makes us who we are by helping us think, adapt and lets us react to the world around us.

The problem begins with the damage of the nerve cell protective covering known as the myelin sheath. This slows or even stops nerve impulses and progressively worsens with no cure in sight. It's that hope, that guiding inspiration that these Riders of Discovery are seeking. They are hoping to bring an end to MS (Multiple Sclerosis) and the beginning of freedom to those with it.

These heroes have banded together with others to fight for those who can't. They are taking to the highways and byways, streets and roads in order to fight for the destruction of this disease. They have taken up arms against this menace, this inner space terrorist.

Stand with them! Fight with them! Cry out in once voice, "Victory"!
